detail sequence re: polishing

i'm going to polish my car for the first time. before, when it came down to detailing the car, i'd wash, clay, wash, then wax. where do i add in the polish? i'm guessing it'd go like this: wash, clay, wash, polish, wax...no? what polish you guys using anyway?

Wash, clay (you can clay during your wash cycle too if its cool and in the shade), polish, seal....
I love the new Four Star Body Shop products as polishes.....Optimums line is also excellent. Lots of folks prefer Poorboys SSR's also....
I dont really have one go to polish, I use all three brands to tell the truth....

Washing after claying is not necessary because polishing will remove any residual clay. It's completely your choice to do so (wash after claying). So the process would be:
1. Wash
2. Clay
3. Polish
4. Seal

A bunch of us here favor SSR/Pro Polish by PB and/or Optimum Polish. If your vehicle has minor surface blemishes, use a paint cleanser - a milder form of polish. If it's pretty much swirl free, try a paint cleaner like AIO. With light to moderate swirls, I would recommend removal with a buffer (PC DA). Attempting to remove swirls by hand can be a long and tedious process. One could possibly do more harm than good, not to mention getting tired and achy after

Hi, Patrick!
