Detail product HELP!

Hey guys, I am going to detail my girl's parent's 2002 Lincoln LSE later this week. The car is black, and has a lot of little surface scratches, as well as a lot of swirls. I am going to purchase some Meguiars #83 and use that. Also, if I stay with the Meguiars pads http://www.autodetailingsolutions.com/Meguiar's%20Professional%20Pads%20&%20Bonnets.htm would I want to use the W7006 to remove the swirls and scratches? Or would I just want to use a W8006 pad? Also, can I do Meguiars #83, followed up by #80? Is there anything that I need to put on top of #80? If not, how many months should this protect the car? I was also thinking about doing #83 followed up by Fourstars Ultimate Paint Protection polish (sold from Patrick at Excel Detail.) Any help would be greatly appreciated, especially in the pad department.

*If I use something like a W7006 cutting pad, do I have to worry about messing up my paint? Also, what speed would you recommend using on the PC to apply the #83?

Thanks much!

You had a previous thread asking basically the same question. One of the difficult tasks is finding the right pad/polish combo. There is one basic rule to remember - Start with the least abrasive product and work your way up. The same can be said with polishing pads. I don't use Megs pads so I can't make comparisons with LC pads. Maybe one of the other guys can do that. And yea, you can use #83 and use a polishing pad with #80 before applying the LSP. Polishes & glazes offer no protection and mainly used for paint correction and paint rejuvenation. It's best to follow with a sealant like UPP for protection.

You need to run between 5/6 to breakdown the polish . . .

83 can be very difficult to break down. If your not familiar with 83 and a PC's abilities, I would definetly go with 80. As for pads, the burgundy will mar the surface, no doubt. I would go with the 8006 (Yellow I believe).

Ok, I will use a W8006 pad and Meg's # 80. I ordered the sampler size on autodetailingsolutions.com website. How many cars do you think I could do with a 12 oz. sampler?

Plenty, enough to make you $ on client cars!
12oz is a sample? I sell 4 oz samples!
