Thinking about using the 3-STEP DEEP CRYSTAL from MEG
-non abrasive cleaner
-polishers
-sealant

Please share your experience and thoughts.

Also, are these safe for clear coating?

If you have better suggestions, I'd be glad to hear it, but I just don't want to use something that will be hard to remove (i.e.: Klasse HG Sealant)

 

Cheep and effective. Is there value in it? Sure! It will train you for better products down the road, but its well worth the shot. It can make a decent difference, just dont expect swirl removal....Its not that type of product.....

 

Not hard to remove at all if you know the right proceedure.

 

step 3 in the 3 step meguiars system is not a sealant, its carnuba wax....

i have used the hole 3 step megs system before, its not bad, but there are much better products to use over the counter...personally if it were me, i would get the meguiars clay kit, do that, then use polish in step 2, then use meguiars nxt 2.0...the nxt will last a lot longer than the step 3 carnuba....depends on how picky you are, but you could just use the clay kit and the cleaner wax that comes with it...

 

So if you use megs clay kit, does that mean you can/should skip step 1 (cleaner) and go straight to step 2 (polish)??

Any advantages/disadvantages if you use the clay kit and still go 1-2-3 or clay kit 2-3?

 

No.. in reality step 1 will clean up any residue from claying .. Claying is not a substitute for any steps .

 

thanks all..yeah, I guess you can never go really wrong with a $17 product (for 3)

but, is Meg clay bar safe for Xzilon clear coating? My Xzilon rep told me that I am not supposed to clay the car. I am just not sure if there is a type of clay that's safe to use...

Since I 've purchased my car, I am not doing much except using a nuba spray wax or QD after every ONR wash because of that reason...

The clay will assist in diminishing the Xzilon. Xzilon is not a mirale shield by any stretch, and the clay is just doing its job. In all reality, dont expect anything additional out of Xzilon, that you couldnt get with a bottle of Polycharged UPP. (Except a lot thinner wallet)

 

If you use the 3 step .. claying is the last of your worries .. then cleaner / polish will prolly remove most of it anyway.
