Debadged and plate holder removed... paint fade and scratches
Hi, I just recently debadged the ACURA and 3.2CLTypeS emblems off the back of my trunk lid. I also took my front license plate holder off. There are scratches on my front bumper now from where the holder was. They're not too bad, but I was wondering if I could do anything about 'em. I was thinking about just using touch up , but that never ever turns out too good.
And after debadging, I'm assuming I've been too slow to debadge, cause it looks like the paint around the badging has faded a bit. I've goo gone'd the residue tape/glue, but you can (pretty clearly) see that emblems used to be there. There are these thin lines in the shape of the letters and numbers. I think they're scratches in the paint. Someone told me to just keep working on 'em w/ Goo Gone. Any thoughts?
Cliff notes:

Debadged trunk and removed front license holder.
Scratches on the bumper, and letter shaped scratches (I think) on the trunk.
Also looks like paint fading in the general shape of the letters and #'s too.

Not sure what the issue is so I would not want to venture a guess. If it's paint fade, you are SOL. Other than that, I'd wait till I saw some close-up pics.

If you're seeing oxidation instead of paint fade you might be able to use a chemical cleaner like AIO to help smooth out the color. If the paint has faded NSX is right. It'll start to even out over time but not much you can do right now.

I debadged yesterday, and the marks have been there since yesterday. Should I get started on buffing those scratches and lackluster areas out a.s.a.p? The car stays garaged all day.

It's the uneven layers of waxes around the old emblems. If you even the surface with a bit of an abrasive cleaner, clay it and re-polish wax that area, that should work.

Can anyone explain how uneven layers of wax wouldn't come off w/ goo gone?
And what about the lackluster areas? =/ Hopefully it's not paint fade...
I'll try the cleaning though for sure.

Got rid of most if not all of it with a bit of claybar, and Scratch X. It was a lot easier than I thought it would be.
