could you wax TOO much?

Is there such a thing as waxing too much? I just got my car two weeks ago. After washing it for the first time i swear its lost its luster. I want to wax it but i hear you need to wax twice a year. Is it not good to wax more than that?

yes. your supposed to use light coats.

several light coats is better than one fat one. the label on the back should tell you that too

or did you mean waxin too often? i don't see how it would hurt, but most people i know don't wax until they can tell that the wax is wearin off (just look to see if water beads off your car)

I wax alomst monthly. it depends on the type of wax. carnauba waxes wear off quicker especially in summer. I would wax more than twice a year especially if use a carnauba wax. no I don't see anyhthing wrong with waxing often- keeps the car looking good all the time- rain barely makes spots on my black tsx now- can't see them unless look real closely at car.

If your car has lost its luster than you may consider a light polish before you apply your wax. There are many waxes, mostly the synthetics, that are designed to be "layered" over a period of time. So that being said there is no problem in waxing often. Waxing every six months is not enough. Most synthetics begin to break down after three to four months and carnubas only last a couple of weeks. Depending on the carnuba of your choice, almost all of them begin to show signs of "yellowing" if too many layers are applied. On the other hand, I've known people who have layered their synthetics (mainly Zanio) up to 100 layers! But the "law of deminished return" applies to all waxes being layered. Meaning that it doesnt matter if you put 5 layers or 1000 layers, the results are not going to look much different.

If you plan on using a carnuba then try a once a month wax plan and try and stick to it.

Looks to be a pretty solid plan
