Cloudy Paint!

I've searched around but didnt find the answer i was looking for, so here is my question. I have a NBP and the Paint on my trunk lid is really cloudy (almost no reflection at all). I can still see the paint and blue flake under it, not sure what is causing this issue.

Has anyone encountered this before or does anyone know how to fix this?

Will a rubbing compound and then a polish help?

Sorry about the long thread

Ps. dont have pics right now, sorry

Pics would help, but I understand, sometimes it just not possible! I would start with a light grade polish and go from there. If you start with a compound type, your going to end up using a light grade polish afterwards, so stay ahead of the game. Start light, and work your way up the abrasive ladder, if needed.
Wash
Clay
paint cleaner
polish...

Sounds like orange peel...... Hard to remove, best left alone.
