Clear Coat/Repaint?

Hi,
I'm new to this forum. I have a 99 TL with clear coat problems. It started this summer and has become really bad. I got 2 quotes for a whole repaint of $4000-$5000. Is there any other option for me? I would want to keep the car for at least another 4/5 years and I wouldn't be selling it anytime soon. Would a repaint of the roof/trunk not match most likely?

Thanks

Hey welcome to the forum!
I hate to be the first bearer or bad news, but............
This is typical in way too many Acuras, Hondas and Toyotas....Not that they all elude to this, but if the above models arent cared for they certainly will.
You really have no choice but to have the entire car painted. It can only get worse as now its exposed to air, and U.V.'s. Once it starts, its a rapid declination of existing paint.
Its really a shame manufacturers dont spend a little more on paint and protection.

I figured it would need the repaint...would getting the roof/trunk repainted only be really off? It's going to be my commuter car for the next 4 years. My budget is about 2k only as of right now.

That question may be better addressed by the paint shop. If they can guarantee a match, I would say go for it.......

you could do a vinyl covering over the roof? theres a guy on here who did that to his red tl. its much cheaper, and you might like the look. so you could do the roof, and the trunk if you want, or get just the trunk painted?
