Cleaning glass

sorry if this has been covered already, but a search didn't turn up much. Can someone recommend a product they've used to clean/restore the windshield. My 05 rl has some significant wiper tracks (from the previous owner) that I am unable to get out. I've tried vinegar (which I didn't expect to work) and some light hand-rubbing with menzerna polish, but haven't had much luck. Products I see advertised on Autogeek, etc. are pricey so I want to make sure what I buy will actually work.

Thanks

None are going to work if the glass itself is compromized. Scratches are more than any glass cleaner / polish is capable as a DIY. Try checking with a glass shop.

If its residue on the window and not marring try straight white vinegar and #0000 steel wool. Keep the glass well lubed with the vinegar when using the wool.

Or you can try the steel wool by itself using soapy water as a lube or just the vinegar on a cloth.

Thanks. They are not scratches. If I run my finger over them, I cannot feel them. They appear to be just streaks from the wiper blades...etched in perhaps?. I've seen products that deal with etching, but not sure how effective they are.

Have you tried using a claybar?
