NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OO

Do not use a power wash!!!! I caused some serious problems on an '88 Integra with just a water hose. Seems that water got under the spark plug cable caps over the plugs and collected around them, shorting them out. I was lucky not to cause some pitting on the head. However you do it, make sure that the spark plugs and the air filter stay dry. Ya gotta be careful.

The plugs on newer Honda engines are covered in addition to the air box. You CAN hose off the engine bay. Just don't go saturating the battery. Use your search button. There have been a few threads in the wash forum to discuss this matter. You can also go to www.autopia.org and get more infor there. That's a great site for cleaning car care.

The plugs on my Integra were covered too. However, enough water leaked in around the covers to cause the problem. I'm sure it's safe to use low pressure to rinse off any degreaser or cleaner, but I recommend looking under the spark plug covers and drying any water off before you start the engine.

cleaning engine bay

Best product I've found so far for this process is a cleaner called P21S Total Auto Wash. You can also find it at a Harley dealership under the name of S100 Total Bike Wash. Same exact product just labeled different for the bikers.

Start by diluting the S100 about 5:1 or 10:1. Dont use it at full strength. It would just be wasting it. Spray entire engine compartment with the S100 and be sure to get it everywhere. Let it sit for a few minutes and then rinse off. Never use high pressure at this point, a light rinse will do just fine. I've done countless number of cars like this and have not covered anything and have yet to have a problem. S100 will leave the engine compartment "squeaky clean" and will restore it to new car condition and it is perfectly safe to get on the paint. Altough you will need to re-wax the areas that it does come in contact with as it will strip the wax. Next start the engine and let it run for a few minutes while you dry off the excess water with an old towel or rag. Be careful not to get the rag caught in the fan. After it has dried touch it up with a low gloss spray such as Stoners Trim Shine. If followed correctly the results will look nicer than when you brought it home from the dealer. Good luck.

Thanks TSXtc It work just as you said. Best part it was easy that S100 worked great. I found it at a local motorcycle shop. It was a bit pricey but worth it. :bigclap:

glad it worked for you

Glad I could help you out. You can also use the S100 TBW under the wheel wells. Everything in the P21S/S100 line is great. Try their carnuba wax. You can leave it on black trim overnight and it wont leave any marks or chaulky residue. I've yet to find a carnuba based wax that is as easy to apply and remove. As for the price, I recommended the S100 line because the P21S version is double whatever you paid . P21S carnuba wax is around $35 a jar and the S100 is about $15. The durability isnt as high as a synthectic wax but the shine is hard to beat. Be sure to do proper paint prep before appling, i.e. dawn, clay, polish, and then wax. Give it a shot, you wont be dissapointed. Thanks for the feedback
