Cleaning chrome rims

When I bought my Work rims, the dealer told me to never use any chemicals on the chrome. Well, they are starting to look a little dull even after a good washing with soap/water. Can anyone with experience suggest a product or method to restore the mirror look to these rims? I don't want anything with abrasion as they cost a lot of $$.
Thanks...
