Clay bar question.

How often should you clay bar your car? I just clay bared mine today and threw three coats of Zaino over it. I don't really want to have to clay it for a while since today was tiring as hell. With the wax/polish on the car, will I ever have to clay it again, or can I keep adding coats of Zaino to keep the paint safe?

Well right now your good for awhile. I would recommend putting a couple more coats of Zaino on and you should be good for about a year.

What I do is once a year I clay the car back down and throw a few coats of Zaino on. The best way to tell is feel the paint. It should always feel smooth and silky. If it sarts to get rough you have to clay again.

Anytime your not happy with the way it looks, and your contemplating throwing on a coat of polish and sealant, you should go ahead and clay away.....At a minimum,, I do my cars twice a yr, sometime three times........I usually detail quarterly....Its really just apersonal preference, theres nothing written in stone as to why and when.......If its feels crappy, clay. If it looks crappy, clay.....

Claybar Question

You can always tell when you need to clay by taking a cigarette pack wrapper, put 2 fingers in it and gently rub across you paint. If it feels like sandpaper - you need to clay the car. I have read that you need to be careful about the number of times you do it because you can begin to strip the topcoat.

I clay 3 or 4 times a year. If you want to throw a few more coats of Zaino, I'd try to do it again in a week. If you go a month or so with just washing, you may get some grit in there and then you'd have it under the zaino. Of course depending on the sandwich bag test (similar to cigarette wrapper)
Otherwise, three coats should get you into early fall without a problem.
