Carpets soaked

Carpets soaked
I parked my car in this random parking lot and it started to rain...No biggie. I come outside to my car and the rain is up to my shins! Well I was originally just pissed my brand new shoes were totally under water, but then I drove home. I didnt think much of it, just got home and took of my shoes, and took a shower. The next day (Yesterday) I noticed my car smelled like a locker room and the floor mat was soaked in certain spots...Under the floor mat it was soaked in alot of spots. I took paper towel and tried to sob it up, but didn't seem to help too much. I was really busy yesterday and didn't have time to really do anything with it.
Tonight I took out the floor mat, and went to the gas station by my house and vacuumned the floor for a good 5 minutes, and it's still wet! What should I do? Does this water cause any kind of electrical damage? Or any damage to the car? Also anything I can do about the smell? Anyone been in this situation? I didnt think my wet shoes could cause the whole floor to be soaked (its definitely from my shoes, since the rest of the car is dry) Thanks

What a coincidence. I just came online to ask about a similar question. My area got flooded, and somehow I got water inside the car and the carpets are all soaked now. I have a feeling the water was as much as 1 - 2 inches in the car. I didn't check it until this evening and I have a feeling it got soaked three days ago. So far i have removed the original carpets and the allseason mats. I was looking to get a wet vac and get the water out. I wasn't sure of the next steps. I feel like removing the seats, taking out the carpet and giving it a good wash and thoroughly dry it in sun.

PS: Aren't these cars sealed so that water does not go inside. A couple of weeks ago my car was in about 15 inches of water for over 12 hours and still didn't get a single drop of water inside. I did make sure that the windows were fully closed so no water could have gone through that area.

My wife left my windows down in my TSX. Driver and passenger seats got soaked during a storm. The leather is STIFF like nothing else. I read Lexol is a good conditioner, but is there anything I can do to fix the leather???
