Can't Zaino for SIX WEEKS!!!

This sucks. I'm getting my trunk and rear driver's side quarter panal re-painted and I won't be able to Zaino up for 6 wks.!!! This blows. We'll...I'll just have to wait awhile prior to putting on my 'spring coat'. What a bummer.

Ahh the joys of body work.....all of the places I've been too in the past have said 30 days though.

At least half of your car will look good for the meet.....

I hear that you can Zaino your car, so check with Sal at Zainobros.com and make sure, you may be able to get busy this weekend.

wait a month. let the paint cure all the way... but you dont have to wait for it to completely "harden" like you would with traditional wax.

If I might put in my three cents:

I e-mailed Sal about this last year when one of my customers needed to repaint his fenders and hood. Sal said to wait one week on body-shop paint before using Zaino. That's more than enough curing time. The new paints are catalyzed and a chemical reaction cures the paint. We're not dealing with older lacquers and enamels that needed two to three months to release solvents. If your paint guy says six weeks or more, he's thinking carnauba wax protection, not a synthetic like Zaino which contains no wax or abrasives or silicone or any oils.

Out of my home as a "hobby," as do most of the distribs around the country. Up here in the northeast corner of Fed Way, by I-5. If I can answer any Q's, try me at dwlodell@qwest.net. Been doing this since last July.

My PM's are all empty now. Drop me a line. As for showing you the Z' ways I'll certainly try my best. It's just a matter of time. I'll only be out there for two days and obviously have to meet the sister and the whole family. We'll see though. I'd like to see you and your ride!!

We'll take this to PM's, and I'll continue to be angry about my non-waxing issues.

had my black hood repainted one day last summer - was zainoing it 7 days later (it was a domned hot and sunny week - so i allowed for that to help harden (probably not required, since its chemical)

now, my hood is the only swirlf free zone on the entire car . . .

30 days is old school - and if you mentioned polyer or non-wax paint protection, a lot of the older shop guys think back to the acrylics that locked in everything under them, and older paint formulations as well.

zaino lets it breathe anyways - if that is a concern . . .(and it reallt isnt)
