Can this be fixed?

I was driving on the bay bridge, lots of traffic going about 50 mph and one car ran over a broken tire that looked liked it belonged on a big pick-up or a semi and it flew into my lane. It was impossible to switch over because there were cars to my right and a wall to my left. I braced for impact and when I got home I inspected the damage. The bumper popped out about 1/2 inch right underneath the drivers headlight and the front left side is all scuffed up.

What I'm wondering is it possible to buff out plastic? There is a 2 ft. scuff mark on the bumper. Hopefully I can pop the bumper back in this weekend when I got some time.

Thank god no accidents happened due to this. And this is actually the second time something like this has happened. Last time it was a shattered piece of 2x4 ran over by a semi and flew into my passenger side mirror in a 4runner.

All this after all this work i spent washing, claying, polishing and waxing a week ago

I had something like this happen a few months after I got my TL - a chunk of who-knows-what left a pretty good scratch in my bumper. A local collision repair center did a spot-repaint for about $350... seemed kinda pricey, but they did an absolutely flawless job.

If its black rubber transfer your dealing with then yes it will come out with a bit of buffing ... try a paint cleaner or a cleaner wax first .. if that doesn't work move to a polish.

FFFFFFme. So i took a closer inspection today and its pretty FUBAR. The paint is peeling, looks like there are bubbles in the paint, scratched up and marred. Sigh. I just had a new bumper put on last June and now this. Will post pics later
