Can't say for keeping it off, but this stuff takes bug guts off really well without taking your wax with it.

I usually leave my front and rear bumper covers as the last things to wash. I spray this on the front bumper cover and let it sit while I scrub the rear bumper cover. I rinse them both at the same time, then once the bug & tar remover has been rinsed off it makes it super easy to scrub off what didn't get completely removed from just the spray and rinse.

I've used Stoner Tarminator and the RainX Bug & Tar Remover, none of which will simply dissolve the bugs away. The RainX is like a runny gel that does a good job of clinging to the surface but still requires agitation. The Tarminator will do work on tar and bugs and I feel is stronger but WILL stain trim if left alone for too long.

A new trick I learned recently for removing bugs is to use a dryer sheet. Soak the sheet in water for 3-5 minutes so it softens up then simply wash the dirty areas. I don't know how it affects LSP's but it works amazing on bugs.

Kills the LSP and the sheet itself will mar the paint .. I found out the hard way on by black Passat ..

Haha, sounds about right. I tested it on my step dad's beater but of course his car being white and mine being silver it's not easy to see. The LSP factor isnt a worry now since mine is basically non-existent but I definitely don't wanna mar the paint.

I think the OP is looking for something to help keep them off .. not remove them ..

OP I actually run a Bra when on road trips .. Saves a lot of bug grief.

The RainX one won't keep bugs off. You'll need to look into some sort of coating, and even then it may not keep them off but it will make removal easier. Maybe look into some long term products made my Wolf's Chemicals, Auto Finesse, or maybe even some Optimum products.

That is a clear bra. I would recommend having a pro put that on. I had a pro put mine on, and he is still going to re-do it. They are easy to goof up.

If you don't drive it, you won't have to clean the bugs.
