Question Buffing machines- Technique

I have a Sears Craftsman buffer. I've used on other cars with ok results. I wasn't a detail freak until I got my TL late last summer. I've only applied wax and buffed off by hand with the TL. My question: (1)Do you guys apply wax and buff with your machines? (2)Anyone use the Craftsman and what are the results? I notice most recommend the porter cable. Thanks

John, your definetely in the minority with that underpowered orbital. Have you been a good boy this year? Maybe Santa will drop off a PC or UDM for you! They really are the only way to maintain the surface. All polishing and waxing is applied with the machine, and pretty effortlessly I might add.

On occasions I'll use the PC to apply and remove a wax/sealant, depending on my mood and what I'm doing at the time. I prefer to hand apply and remove an LSP. The PC/UDM is mainly used for removing/correcting surface defects. The variable speed adjustment enable the user to use if for wax/sealant application and removal as well as final buffing.

I used to have one of those OTC 10 in. orbital buffers, not a Craftsman tho. Back then, I didn't know any better. I may possibly still have it (somewhere). Comparing results, the PC wins, hands down.

Is it online only, or can you come to a physical place to buy it? Just wondering because Thousand Oaks is only like 30 mins away from me.
