Bra or no bra ...

Here is a pix of the hood of an 08 Accord I did today .. Dealer sold him a bra .. installed it and never told him he needed to remove it or clean under it..

The odd thing is it only discolored the paint on the hood .. not the fenders so I did a little snooping and I'm not 100% sure but little things tell me the hood was a repaint.

Car was bought new in early Jan 08

I have run bras on on my last 2 cars pretty well all winter and not a problem ..

Thats an odd fade.... and already fading on an 08?!!!

I must agree with you Jess, seems like there was something the dealer attempted to cover up, but hey its not your car right.

Did you inform the owner?

looks like when they installed the bra, it wasn't "nicely" put on, maybe some air/water still inside the bra making this color in differ.

I agree. Something is not right about the paint. I have used "normal" auto bras for years without a problem like this one.

The owner was aware before I picked up the car .. I had asked him to take the bra off.. soon as he did he saw it and showed me.

Ya .. I have seen other bras give a shadow and most the time it buffs out but the clear on this was just perfect .. but the color coat was all goofy ..

Usually the clear will feel a little dried out etc.
