Black Tl With Swirls

I have a black TL and for some reason there are so many swirl marks and iw ant to get rid of them. When my car is parked in the garage and the garage light hits it, the car shines really nice. However up close with natural light u can see the swirl marks. What do you all suggest. My goal is to remove the swirls and to get a deeper richer wet look. please advise me.

Proper swirl removal would really entail the use of a PC, truthfully speaking. And, of course a swirl mark removal polish and pads. i could recommend a product that you could use by hand, but your margin of gaining any significant swirl removal is marginal. It can be done, but it really takes an honest, grin and bare it effort. You may be better suited addressing 1 or 2 panels a weekend, opposed to tackling the entire car.
Some products that come to mind by hand could be 3M's SMR, or Poorboys SSR 2.0, just to name a couple......
As for addressing the reason you have swirls in the first place, also needs to be indentified and and your technique re-evaluated. Invest in a good sheepskin washmit, quality microfiber polishing towels, as well as waffle weave drying towels.....

Black...mmmmm. Beautiful car when it's properly detailed...pain in the @SS....the rest of the time. I have to say it's the definitely a trade off. The best thing you can do is take a look at this article and this one that focuses on swirl removal . Check them out, take the knowledge, and apply it to make your car look the best that it can!!

I'm in the same position as nitehawk23, black TL with a bunch of swirls. I've read this forum for many months now and also other forums, I've read all the how-to articles, and thought I had everything covered...obviously NOT!! I use a lambswool wash mit, Gold Class car wash, and MF towels from Costco. I was wondering, are all MF towels the same?

I just ordered a bunch of stuff from exceldetail.com, so hopefully my problems will be solved....after I get it professionally fixed!! I'm just trying to figure this out so it doesn't happen again. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Your first recourse is to establish your safe washing and drying methods, we can take one step at a time......
A couple buckets, nice soap, sheepskin washmit, and waffle weave drying towels. Shade, cool surface temps, gentle cleaning swipes with a well sudsied (is that a word?) washmit. Its all in the Car Care FAQ's.....

It's impossible to determine how bad the swirls are without pictures. Take a picture so that it includes a reflection of the sun. The spot where the sun is reflected will show the swirls very clearly.

For Example:

After being polished and waxed with Meguiar's Speed Glaze #80 (using a dual action polisher) and NXT wax:

Nitehawk23....sweetjazz has effectively removed the swirls from that ferrari. You're black paint should look perfect if you use the right tools, the right products, and take the time needed. Swirls are tough, since there are so many of them....and even more opinions on how to remove them! Heck, I've been to body shops that tell you it's impossible to remove them...that's when you know not to go to that body shop. By the way...nice job sweetjazz!
