Black marks on inside of doors

I should apologize in advance for my ignorance on car detailing techniques...

I have an '05 RL. Recently i have noticed plenty of black marks (streaks / lines) of variable thickness along the lower inside panel of front drive and passenger doors. My guess is that these are caused by dirt from shoes, catching the tail end of the doors, as feet get planted in the car (i.e. the process of getting seated). Regular soap water does not seem to remove the marks. Should i use 303 cleaner to get rid of it? (part of the problem lies therein i.e. my inability to figure out whether the doors have leather or vinyl or something else on them)?

Any help would be appreciated.

Honestly, I use a MF + Water combo, and it buff's right out.

Your results will vary, but this seems to work well. These are just scuffs right? and not a gouge? What color is your interior? (mine is black) so that may make a difference too. (oops just read your sig)

I'm not sure what else you could try but 303 is more of a protectant, and not a cleaner..

I honestly dont know how to get it off a lighter interior. So g/l
