Badging adhevsive

I removed the badging tonight and am having some trouble getting the sticky adhevesive off of the car. I read an article on here telling me how to get it off, but I didn't find it in a quick search. Can someone tell me how to do this?

I went to look for something at Advanced Auto and the guy told me to use paint thinner, any comments on this?

3M General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner

You will get a million and one suggestions. However, I suggest you get a can of this:

"3M Adhesive Remover”. You will need to put some wax, Zaino, etc back on after you use it, but it will get the adhesive off the car and it was designed by 3M for doing exactly what you want to do.

If you wanted to "fuss around"/”experiment”, you could try some WD40 and other stuff, but if the adhesive is really stuck into the clearcoat (and it will be UNDER the wax/sealer), you will need to add some protection after your “clean-up” anyway.

Here is the best I can do right now (you can probably find the stuff at a local Napa parts store):

"REMOVE TAR, GREASE, OIL AND ADHESIVES QUICKLY
I use this for cleaning everything. Safe to use on cured paint. Quickly removes road tar, adhesive, new car cosmoline, wax, oil and other contaminants without fuss. Needle point dispenser regulates output. Perfect when used with our Swabs for fine detail work or our Disposable Wipe Down Towels. Always wear latex gloves to protect your skin when using Adhesive Cleaner. 32 ounces."

^^^^^ Good stuff.

You can also use Goo Gone. Works pretty well and you can buy it anywhere.

Thanks for all the help. I had someone else scrub it off with some WD40 last night. I haven't gotten to the re-waxing the trunk, but that is the plan for tomorrow.

When removing the badging there are no holes left in the finish. I would suggest getting something to clean the adhesive off before trying though. And try a hair dryer, not a heat gun, or you might be repainting the trunk/whole car when your done.
