Auto Unlimited Detail: 2005 Acura RL
This 05 Acura RL was sent to me for a quick detail. The car is a daily driver, never waxed, and at one point was not garaged for a couple years.
The paint is in pretty bad condition with swirls, deep scratches, some gouges, bird dropping residue, hard water spots, etc. The owner was completely clueless about paint maintenance. The car was never waxed or polished in its entire life.
The interior is in pretty decent condition with some light dusting but no major issue. The leather seats were very dry and looked lifeless. Some of the rubberized buttons are peeling due to heat.
The car was thoroughly washed and clayed. It was an express detail, so I didn't spent too much time polishing the car. The paint is soft, so most of the swirls and defects were removed easily.
All the plastic parts were dressed with either Meguiar's HD or Black WOW. The cowling was very faded and Black WOW did turn it nice and matte black again. Tires and wheel wells are also cleaned and dressed.
The interior was vacuumed, wiped down and dressed. The leather seats were treated with Lexol. Although Lexol improved the leather appearance somewhat, Leatherique would have been the better choice. Unfortunately the owner declined the additional charge for Leatherique.
All in all, total time spent is 8 hours. The paint isn't flawless but definitely looks MUCH better now. Owner is happy and so am I.
