Anybody here use Aerospace 303...
...protectant on your TL's dashboard and other interior vinyl? If so, does it leave behind a shiny, plasticky Armor All shine?
#2
I use 303 on my s2000 interior and soft top. it's not as shiny/plasticky looking as armor all or even meguiars, but it does have a bit of shine too it. It's better to apply to a cloth and then evenly rub it in to keep any shine down. To sum it up, 303 has made it to my regular arsenal of detailing products.
New product of the week for me though is Adam's In and Out spray. I didn't like it the first time i use it as it seems like nothing comes out. But what did come out and what i spread around the engine of the s2000 was surprisingly more matte than the 303. So that may be something you want to look into as well. I'm going to give it another try next car wash session..

Any car care product will work the way its intended provide it’s used on a properly prepared, clean surface.
303 Aerospace and doesn’t in itself leave a shiny surface, however it has no cleaning ability. So any dust turns it into a very mild abrasive that imparts a shine

I find that its difficult to apply it evenly to the dashboard. I always see streaks unless I spend a good 15-20 minutes on it. I spray the 303 onto a microfiber cloth, apply, then dry with another microfiber cloth. I find that this cuts down on streaks and excess shine.

Thanks all for your replies. My biggest concern is the "shiny" surface that some protectants leave behind, which to me always looks cheap. Consequently I have gone without and just made due with damp cloth cleaning.

IIRC 303 is a UV protectant, so it would be beneficial to use even in a brand new car.
That said, I use it on the dash and door panels of my CL and absolutely love the stuff.

It's a good product. Try it, if you don't like it don't use it again. It's not like it will never wear off...it isn't a permanent application.

I bow to the 303 gods...
No shiny finish for me.
For those that have trouble with streaky application, try using a slightly damp MF cloth, then spray the 303 on it and wipe on the dash. Then wipe off with a dry MF cloth. Also I apply it like I apply a sealant, wiping in several directions before moving on.
Here in the desert, 303 is a real asset on trim, vinyl, leather, dash, etc...

My SF has that black plastic trim that UV rays love to fade and turn chalky white and 303 works wonders on it. My car is garaged and only sits outside when I'm at work but man, that stuff makes it look GREAT!! It makes it look new, not greasy or shiny and trust me, I'm with you on hating the mirror look that Armorall creates.
I use 303 Aerospace on:
> Exterior black plastic trim (farings below doors, around front fog lights, lower grille and bottom of the rear bumper)
> Interior door sills
> Rubber cup holder and storage pocket inserts
> Cargo tray (makes stuff slide around, though )
> Cargo area walls and tailgate interior trim.
I'll never go without it again.

303 is nice. It leaves a not too shiny, not too matte dressing on the engine bay. I also used Meguiar's #40 and it isn't too bad either. I think if you want a bit more of a matte finish give Optimum Protectant a try.

I put 303 on my cereal in the morning. Adds a little luster to the milk.

By the way, 302 was just awful. They got it right with 303, though.

303 is what I use too. The only thing I hate about the 303........is that I use it up too quickly. I use it on my seats, dash, trim, tire, floor mats, steering wheel, and engine bay. It's almost a universal product.

i evenused 303 on one of my leather sofas that faces a window... since it is exposed to the sun for half the day, why not protect it...
