another TL dash question...

Going nuts over the following:
2006 TL Dash- shows the airbag lines.... takes about 3 days to a week following 303 application for them to show up.

Used a clean 100 % cotton terry cloth to dust the dash. It was dry and now I have swirls in the dash.

I have tried 303, Lexol Vinyl, Megs Leather Conditioner and Eagle One Vinyl Protect- the only one that hides the marks is the Megs- but it is shiny and it only hides them... wipe it away and they are back-

I can't seem to find the Megs #40 in a retail store...

I went to the dealer and they were out of the Honda cleaner polish mentioned in the well known TSB on dash fade.

Any product suggestions? At this point can't even get the airbag marks to completely go away. Car isn't old enough for this.

The word polish on the lable of the honda stuff peaked my curiousity- are there other polishes I could get my hands on that would remove the marks?

Thanks for any help

I would wait for the Honda cleaner to come in or find it online. I use it and it works wondefully!

If Im on the right track, your reeferencing the outline of where the AB deploys? Your never going to eleviate the AB outlines. The AB is designed to deploy with minimal resistance. You will find those line areas to be the thinnest areas on the dash. Clean and dress the entire dash for uniformity, and thats really the best you can do.

You are correct- that's what I am referring to-

The swirl mark is the most annoying though- I was just dusting with a cotton towel and it left a circular mark that I can't seem to get rid of.... starting to think that I may need some sort of dye or polish to even it back out?

Any luck at finding the Honda stuff online? I have not been able to...

That's really weird. I have an 07 TSX, but I dust the dashboard all the time with a clean white cotton towel. I have yet to see any swirl marks. Are you sure that some kind of product didn't get onto the towel?

Or was there sand (or other abrasive) on the dash? How the heck do you swirl the dash?? Now my neurosis is kicking into high gear!...

Yeah pretty darn sure...... I guess something *could* have been in the cloth- though I am so careful with this stuff... my hope is that there was older dried 303 in the dash material and that this - when in contact with the towel caused the swirl.... dunno...

Hopefully the honda cleaner will provide some relief once I can find some.

Perhaps you could try wiping in a side to side motion. This might prevent the swirling issue? I usually just go side to side using the Meguiars Qwik detailer on my 07 TSX. I do it at least once a week, and I have yet to have any issues whatsoever!

You might have a hard time finding the honda cleaner, honda no longer produces any of their own chemicals, such as leather cleaner, the rubber and vinyl protectant and so on. You might get lucky and find a dealer with some, but they no longer will get anymore. The honda dealer that i work at still has a few detail kits in stock which included some small cans of honda leather protectant and cleaner, rubber and vinyl protectant and glass cleaner. I bought several of them just to acquire the rubber and vinyl protectant for my dash!

Are you certain they even did from the beginning? Normally, auto makers rely on name brand manufacturers to private label......It may be nothing more then Megs.....

Im sure that other companies do make their chemicals and cleaners and honda just puts their name and label on them, but what i am saying is that there will be no more with the honda name on them! My honda dealer now gets their car care products from megs, and as for engine cleaners and such we go through other companies.
