Adhesive remover - what's safe on clearcoat
I had a previous post on this but I can't find it. Anyhow, I have a line of glue (must be from the protective film) on the hood. I plan to Clay this weekend. If that doesn't remove it, are these products safe on clearcoat?
Goof off - I've used this on hardwood floors and no problems with poly coat!
WD40 - Good overall cleaner, but will it harm the clearcoat?
Cheers!

You will need a solvent based product to easily remove adhesives. Don't use any water based product because you tend to rob too much!!!. Go to the Home Depot and look for any solvent that's safe on the paint that can remove adhesives
With the right product, the glue should come off almost instantly.

Go to any auto parts store and look near the body repair section for something like PrepSolv or Chronar. Tell them you need a lacquer and enamel cleaner. It needs to be clearcoat safe.
