Acid Rain
Acid Rain
I have a black Cl-s, and I keep wax on the car. When being lazy I wax the car once a month, but on the trunk and the roof I am seeing the effects of acid rain in the clear coat. I am thinking about repainting the car and having them apply two coats of clear. Any comments would be appreciated.
Any potential buyer of your car will walk away from it if it has been repainted.
If the acid rain (or UV?) damage is in the surface of the clearcoat, what does it matter how many coats you have? Are you thinking thicker is better? It would be an outstanding paintshop that could match the quality of a factory paintjob.

OTOH, if you plan on keeping the car, I'd get it repainted.

I have water spots. After dawn, clay, polish, wax, I still have spots. They are etched into the clear coat.
It will take a high speed orbital or rotary to get the spots out. Lucky I have silver, the spots are not very noticable.
Acid Rain
I tried cleaners, and I have paid for Professional Paint reconditioner, but the acid rain is still on the trunk and roof. I have on spot that is completely thru the clear coat. I know I can repaint the car, but Acura has a 5 year unlimited on the paint, does this excluded the affects of acid rain.
