a4 detail

went over w/ megs #80 followed up w/ 2 coats of NXT

water spots that have been sitting for 2 months

Audi paint is REALLY hard, there were a few scratches that wouldn't even budge, I might of been able to rid them w/ a cutting pad but wasn't comfortable w/ it yet.

you need to find a place to host the pics

what did you use to tackle it? Man was this paint hard. There was just a minor scratch that I know I could of taken out on anything else and DACP wouldn't even DENT it.

I started out friday night and it took me 2 1/2 hours just to clay it. then i was beat so i put it in the garage and in the morning I went at it with PP and an orange pad. But Audi clear coat is like granite so I mixed an 80/20 of PP and UPP and used a yellow pad. That did the trick for most of the car but the hood required staight up UPP. Then a gradual step down to PP and finally MP with a white pad. The PC was set on 3 1/2 to 4. Then I put two coats of Glanz to seal it all in. In the afternoon while the Glanz was curing I took the rims and tires off and cleaned the inside of the rims and then the wheelwells and finally coated the rims with Klasse AIO and then two coats of SG. In retrospect I should have used the Klasse twins on the car too but I usually save the twins and PUPP combo for our own cars.

how do I find a place to host the pics?

For future Reference, Glanz wax doesn't really coat. It's a solvent base and will essentially dissolve the first coat of Glanz underneath it.

Nice work on the detail CLpower! Good to see some detailing examples backed up by procedures and pics on this board!

TSXtc, I use www.photobucket.com for online hosting of images. You just upload the images and they get a URL that you can paste into your postings on the forums here. Easy to use and they give you lots of bandwidth.

If by coating you mean layering you are correct, Glanz does not layer well. I simply apply two coats of Glanz just to insure that the coverage goes on evenly and no spots were missed.

YEah. I meant layering. Was just trying to make sure you weren't doing extra work for no reason.
