Thanks! I most definitely will. I threw the 19" wheels back on the the car just for fun and had a friend take some pics of it last weekend.

awesome car awesome pics. The Legend Coupe is what got me started liking Acuras. I never could afford the one I wanted then, was even harder when I looked just a couple of years ago. I would like to see it come back.

That is incredible! How have you managed to keep up the interior over all those miles? I can understand how you managed the exterior w/ regular details and the updated paint, but have you replaced lots of interior parts? If not how have you kept them from fading?

What line of work are you in that causes such high mileage?

Keep up the good work, Giff

Thanks guys for the additional comments! I'm at 305k now and no sign of slowing down.

I've had plastic on the entry parts of the carpet since I've owned the car. I treat the leather with Poorboys Leather Care and the dash, vinyl, and other surfaces with Poorboys Natural Look. I always use a sun shade when I park outdoors. The windows are dark tinted to keep the UV rays of the sun from beating down on the interior. I use a brand new set of floor mats for shows & special occasions, and another set for daily use. All of that translates into a well-kept interior. I have not replaced anything on the interior except the shift knob and the leather (5 years ago).

All of my mileage is from leisure driving. I work in the airline industry so I can essentially fly anywhere I want -- for free -- but I just choose to drive a lot. I'd much prefer to be on the open road than up in the air. So far I have driven this Legend in 25 U.S. states, 3 Canadian provinces, and 2 Mexican states. I have been across the country twice in it. The longest road trip so far has been the 8,000 mile round trip to Fairbanks, Alaska in May 2006.

Awesome, I saw that. Thanks for the feature . I'm at 305,200 and counting. Drove the car to LA and back on Sunday. Here's one more pic with the wheels.

And it looks like I exceeded my monthly bandwidth on one of my photobucket accounts, so I have re-uploaded the maintenance spreadsheet here.

It's outdated, but just missing a couple of oil changes at the end.

WOW that thing is clean, bet it runs great still, too.
Kinda reminds me of my cousin's '88 Accord hatch that just died recently -timing belt broke and f*d sh*t up- with over half a million miles (My mom got it new before it was his).
Hopefully that'll last for a few hundred thousand more miles

Right you are. Only 122k on this one though . More nimble than the Legend, more fun around town, but not nearly as competent as a highway cruiser.

I sit here with my mouth absolutely agape. Amazing job, and gorgeous Legend.

My father owned an AT sedan of the same model year and color when I was a kid. I loved that car. And then, some many years later, I came to own an Acura myself. The salesman smiled when I told that story the day I signed for the car - he said he'd heard it many times before.

Keep that car beautiful, man.

wowsers! he should sell that for only 500 or something or donate it to Honda. now if someone still owns an original 1973 Civic with 1,000,000 miles out there, that is truly saying Hondas last forever.

Thank you sir. I just picked up the car yesterday afternoon after it spent 22 days on the showroom floor. Feels great to have it back on the road for the next 300k to come.

Pretty decent with 6th gear actually! I pull in the high 20's consistently on the highway and I've even gone 30+ on a couple of occasions.

BHGs are not inevitable . I am still on the original HG with no signs of failure. It's all about preventive maintenance and very close care of the cooling system, my friend. You should have kept the old Legend!

Super-clean. Most new cars don't look that good after a few months. Hat's off to ya!

My mom owns a 1994 Legend sedan. They're timeless. I think that was one of the best Acuras ever - far better than the current RL.

Two questions - what was the sticker on that thing (shown in the window in one? Also, I see another Legend coupe (white) next to yours in one pic... Another high-mileage one?

I wanted a Legend coupe for a long time... ended up with few Acuras since then, but never a Legend.

Thank you for the continued responses and kind words. This thread keeps coming back to the top somehow, and I'm still putting miles on the car. It has 308,000 on it now.

The sticker on my car reads $41,800 with California emissions. If you adjust that for 2008 dollars, it's a mid-$50k car. (!)
Scanned here...

The white coupe you see there is FAR from high mileage. It belongs to a friend of mine named Chuck and is perhaps one of the LOWEST mileage Legend coupes in existence. He recently turned over 20,000 original miles. Yes, 20k on a 1993! It still smells brand new. It's a 6-speed LS as well, and basically the same exact car as mine except for a slightly different front bumper valance, and trunk lid emblem configuration. I'll see if I have more pics of his car; it's incredible and far more worthy to be in the showroom than mine.

I disagree. Your car has more reason to be there than his. The car with 303K that is showroom new says more than one with 20K.

Nice ride. My hat is off to you. Keep up the good work, it gives others hope.

Hey 4Cruizin, at least your Legend and Prelude haven't really seen snow and salt, which is why I haven't really seen a Legend or Prelude that old anymore up in the Chicagoland area. Most of the Legends and Preludes up here have a lot of rust on them by now.

You have never changed the TB & WP - I saw it was done by the original owner @ 75000. Truly amazing. And to thnk only $8000 cheaper (MSRP) than the new 2010 RL
