3G TL Dash Polishing
Does anyone know what would be the best thing to use on a 3G TL' dash to polish it up? I have an area that looks discolored compared to the rest of the dash. Don't know if it was scratched or what is there anything that can take that off and polish back up?

aerospace 303. spray it onto a semi-damp cloth and then spread evenly across your dash. protectant should last a few months. it's all i ever use.

I searched around for a bit and it seems various places carry the 303, which have you guys found to be the best, cheapest deal? I would like to go over my dash really good but am hesitant to use anything because of the problems with cracking.....I surely don't want that to happen.

I just read in another thread where the use of anything except water and a cloth on the dash was frowned upon by Acura techs. They stated that the dash is made of a breathable material, made to expand and contract due to temperature changes to keep from cracking. They also said that the use of products won't allow the dash to breathe and expand/contract as necessary, which may cause damage, ie, cracking.
I was of the 303 camp too and still have almost a full bottle left, but for the dash, I'm just going to wipe it down with a damp cloth from now on. The last thing I want is a cracked dash. There have been many owners on here say they treated their dashes with 303 or other similar products religously, used sun shades and parked out of the sun and had their dashes crack anyways.
I'm not sure if Acura is just trying to cover their butts here and push off blame to someone else, or if they are being legit. But I'll err on their side this time.

Maybe we need a poll of members ..
Cracked dashes .. no products used ( Car year )
Crached Dashes .. products used ( Car year )
No cracked dashes. (Car year )
I think as with anything else the vocal minority of people who had problems are the "many".

yeah not trying to start a war here..just wanting to know what can be done to maybe condition my dash back to the way it was. Bought it used so not sure what the guy before me treated it with. Has anyone had any issues with the Acura dealership detailing? I figure if they mess something up they would have to replace right?

303, Eff the acura techs. They also try to sell you on power brake spring actuator grease foil protectant sleeves...
I got suckered twice by those damn sleeves... :shakesfist:
303 is the most chemically inert substance known to man.. It is used by the IAEA to control the speed of nuclear reactions. Also, entire African villages have lived off it's nourishment for weeks at a time. It's pretty good stuff.

I'm a fan of Optimum Protectant Plus. I use it on my dash and seats.

Last(first) time I got my TSX's oil changed, I walked into the accessory dept and asked if they had any of the leather/vinyl protector spray, the clerk handed me a clear bag with 3 small bottles in it. One was leather/vinyl cleaner, one was leather/vinyl protector, and the last was carpet spot remover. The bag was free.
