303 Protectant

Just picked up a couple bottles of 303 Aerospace Protectant. What exactly can I use it on? Appreciate any advice.... don't want to screw anything up.

Try here and I'm sure it will answer any questions you have about any of the 303 products available on the market.

It's great for the dash, panels on the doors, the plastic around the interior like the steering column, the plastic trim by the door sills, exterior trim, tires. It can be used on the leather. Personally I use a leather cleaner and conditioners for leather.

The great thing about 303 is its a jack of all trades. Its not the best at any one thing, but it does ALOT of things well.

I use it on anything plastic, vynol, leather, or rubber in the car. So dash, doors, seats , steering wheel, tires, etc, etc, etc. This was I only have to keep one product around, rather that fussing with 10 different products.

I use it on dash, non leather parts of the doors, rubber seals .. its great stuff.. I would, however, caution against using it on your windshield wipers .. I used it on mine, thought I had done a good job of getting most of it off and they still streaked like crazy for the first rain. after that all was good again, but it was a pain for that first storm

Could anyone point out the leather and the non-leather parts of the door panel? I can't tell the difference and I would like to apply the appropriate conditioner for the specific type of material.

TIA

Sit in your car naked.

Whatever your skin touches is leather. Except for carpet and foot pedals.

The perforated stuff is leather also.

The leather conditioner is harmless on the vinyl.... just expensive.

I would not use 303 on the all season matts. I tried that because I thought they would look good. They look really good but I almost fell on my ass getting in the car this morning.

I'd apply a tire protectant or 303, but not both. 303 leaves a nice matte finish.

Just wait until your feet are wet, that should increase the slippery factor by 50!! Get in like a chick getting in a limo... sit down and then swing your legs in, that way you won't end up in a writhing heap of flesh next to your car. Learned that lesson by having wet feet, ice cold all season mats... went to step in like normal and ended up bouncing my head on the pavement..... Winters are hazarous in Colorado...

If you apply it on exterior trim, it will streak when your car gets wet in the rain. That is the downside of 303. If you want nice shiny tires, but not as shiny as those tire foams, use 303 protectant mixed with Meg's Gold Class Trim detailer on a sponge on only the sidewall of the tires.

Hmm. I think I have some leather jackets and leather couches to sell you. Seriously, all you have to do is look close and feel it. Leather is thicker and less foamy. On the doors, the ONLY leather part is the place where your elbow rests and the little bit around the edges below it.
