2012 BMW M3 Competition - Correction and Ceramic

This 2012 BMW M3 came in with just 206 miles on it, however, it suffered a dealership prep and was already marred and damaged. There were some surface scratches on the hood and quarters, and many rids and marring on the sides of the vehicle. The Competition wheels also needed some attention so we removed them, treated and applied two coats of CQuartz ceramic protection. The M3 itself was also ceramic coated after the correction for the owner to enjoy!

Wheels off!

Cosmoline and brake dust stains on the barrels, degrease, de-tar and IronX up to the job

5.

The wheels were alcohol wiped and then applied with two coats of CQuartz. Left to dry for 2 days before going back on the car

Masked up all the trim, took depth readings and inspected the paint...not the best for only 206 miles. Thank you improper dealer wash!

The paint condition pre-correction, a good amount of RIDs and marring were found as well as some dealer installed scratches

Here is a pair of 50/50 correction snaps between the door and front fender

The paint condition after the correction, the interior light shots are pre-ceramic coating, the outside pictures are post-ceramic coating

Now for some finished reflection shots

Finished full profile photos of the car

Thanks for looking as always! Feedback always welcome and appreciated!

Looks awesome. Love the concavity of the competition wheels.

+1

does it really work and last as long as the manufactures say it does?

is it really harder to scratch/swirl / bird droppins eat into paint?

Simply put, I was the BIGGEST critic of the ceramic coating when I was first introduced a couple years ago. It was just too new and too big of a claim. I tested it for a year on three different vehicles, put it through all the claims it made and came out impressed and assured enough to offer it as a service.

To this day Im still amazed at how well its held up on notoriously soft painted cars and even hard paint vehicles. Just the water repelling off the paint is awesome to watch when youre rinsing the vehicle down.

I believe it actually saved the rear bumper of an Audi R8 I coated when someone bumped into it reversing out of a spot, the marks literally wiped off. However the only thing it is vulnerable to and is noted from the manufacturer is to remove bird droppings as quickly as possible, the acidity of the bird droppings is strong enough to penetrate the finish if left on for a few days.

Hi Nick I just picked up a 2010 v6 TSX and it needs a full detail, the paint has plenty of swirls. How much would a detail cost like the one you did on this BMW? You can pm me. Also how far are you from Charleston WV....
