Question 2004 TL Leather starting to smell

Should I take it in to the car wash and get it steam cleaned or something. It's starting to smell like old leather you know.

Are you doing something in your car to cause it to smell funky? My car is older than yours and never had that problem.

What products do you use for cleaning / conditioning the leather (only products I know that cause a 'smell' are those that are formulated with saddle soap or lanolin)

I took it to the car wash 6 months ago and he used some conditioning product on the seats. I think that might be what's causing the smell.

So I figure get the smell out by taking it in again but only steam clean and shampoo. No conditioner.

I know it's the leather because even the back seats smell the same way and no one sits there.

So, what's a good cleaner and conditioner that I can do myself that will get rid of the smell?

Do not steam clean it, all you will do is extract the natural oils. I like using either Four Star or Duragloss Leather care products.

Perhaps steam cleaning will bring the leather to a 'sterile' (removeing the existing product(s) that are causing the smell, after the steam treatment condition the surfaces

Steam cleaning- Cleaning interior doors, leather and vinyl upholstery clean exceptionally well with steam
