1.5 month New TL ready for wash

Sup fellas! My brand new TL left the lot less than 2 months ago. Who knows how long its been sitting there. So when i got the car home, i quickly washed and waxed with Megs Gold Class. The result looked pretty good.

It's been 1.5 month now since i washed my car. I went out and bought some new products from megs: tech wax, megs clay bar, and megs tech detailer.

So tomorrow i will try to attemp to do the following steps by hand:
1. wash w/ megs nxt shampoo
2. clay
3. rinse w/ water
4. wax w/ megs tech

For the next step, should i spray with my megs tech detailer or should this be done before the 4th step?

Also, i heard if i want to get a wet/shiny look on my car, on top of my wax ,do i use some carnauba product? If so, could somebody please recommend a product and if it's compatilbe to what i am using (megs tech wax).

thanks in advance

I would throw in Klasse AIO or somthing after step 3. Or some type of cleaner to prep the surface.

And eek, a month without a wash? I cant go longer than a week....

I second the use of pre-wax cleaner. If you're going OTC, you can use Megs DC System Paint Cleaner and Polish. Or you can try #80. Then follow with NXT. It's a common practice to top it off with a 'nuba to add depth. A number of folks like using S100 or Natty's. These are waxes without any cleaners. S100 is available at HD shops and Natty's through online detail sites. As far as washing, recommend 7-10 days between washes and follow with QD like DGAW. An inexpensive but amazing product, you'll be surprised. Hopefully some of the other guys will throw in some recommendations.

The process looks good. You don't necessarily have to rinse after claying. Using a polish or a pre-cleaner will take care of any residual clay. If your surface has no swirls/blemishes, I would opt for the pre-cleaner/polish. Always start with the least abrasive product then work your way up.

Just a FYI, I don't recommend removing swirls by hand. Besides being a long and tedious process, your hand/arm can't replicate the actions of a machine. The recommended method is a PC combined with a polishing pad along with an abrasive product like #80. Other than a rotary, this would be the best combination with excellent results.
