Yeah, the OEM 18"s are 8.5 +45's and the 245/40 would be a great choice.

What about putting 245/45/17's on the standard 17" wheel?

I'm curious to see which rims (with working offset) will clear the brembo brakes.

I've heard that if you roll the fenders on the front and rear, you can fit 20 x 8.5 up front & 20 x 10 in the back. Is this true?

Hmm, I am thinking something here. I have some R-compound rubber for my G35 coupe. They are 275-40-17 (all 4) with 17x9 +27 wheels. That would be a good time to take the TL out to the autocrosses and have a little fun with some decent rubber on it. Just like everyone else is asking....any ideas if it will fit? I am assuming the fronts are going to rub, but it would be great if I could use them for both cars and just have a little fun in the TL at the autocrosses too!!!

hey guys,
What is the highest offset we can put on a 04 TL a/t without there being any problems? I'm interested in these 18x8 +48mm rj legends and am wondering if they will cause any problems on my TL (stock suspension).

Im currently running 245-40-18 on my 05 TL and it fits perfect and provides extra protection for these horid NYC streets.
I would also like to know from someone with first hand experience if the 245-40-19 will fit.

Going back to the original post......Is he saying that snow tires should be placed on 16" wheels even though the OEM is 17"?

I have some 16" lexus wheels with snows, but they are 5x114 with a center bore of 60.1
The TL is 5.114 with a 64.1 center bore so they dont sit on the studs correctly.
Does anyone know how thick a spacer would need to be to clear the cerner hub?
basically, how far does the center hub stick out past where the wheel should sit flat?

They are the same, I swapped mine out with no problem, just pulled the trunk liner out, disconnected the old ones, and popped the new ones in.

I frequently mess around with willtheyfit.com. It calculates how different a new set up will be compared to your current set up Such as spedo error, ride height difference, poke difference, etc. I feel that many of the questions on this thread can be answered from that site. I haven't tested the accuracy of the site but maybe someone else can varify?
