Help! Coil Spring Silencers

I am planning to install some H&R sport (51858) springs and bilstein shocks on my CL soon. As far as I can tell the new springs will not come with silencers (the rubber sleeve that keeps the coils from clanging), and I am assuming my 10 year old silencers on the stock springs will be hard, brittle, and basically unusable. Does anyone know where I could get some new ones? I checked with the local acura dealer to no avail. Also is it safe to assume I can find new top shock bushings and top spring insulators at the local parts store?

You might not need the silencers if they didn't come with the new springs.

Finally after 40+ views a response. I was beginning to think that everyone either did coilovers, or had done the spring/shock mod before their factory silencers had worn out. I actually found today that Tien makes some silencers that may work on these springs (H&R 51858). Need to do some more checking. It looks like the new front springs may not need silencers, but I think the backs will. Anyway, I'm still waiting for the shocks, so we'll see how this all comes together over the next month or so. Thanks again.

The Acura part number for the spring silencer tubes is: 52442-S0X-A01
This is what I used when my OEM tubes turned to dust after 9 or 10 years. They should work for the H&R's.

The attached PDF may also help.

Good Luck.

I went through a similar experience last year, as I was trying to diagnose the source of some rear noise and in troubleshooting, came across the rubber isolator sleeves being ripped in spots and in need of replacement. The local repair tech found some 3rd party replacement options at a local parts store, but they were not an exact fit and he advised against it. He recommended contacting the coilover manufacturer and inquire if they have any replacement isolator sleeves to sell. I had to get some for my AMR coilovers and they cost about $30 if I recall for a full set of 4 replacement sleeves.

I ordered 4 of the part zeta recommended from my acura dealer yesterday. Well see if they work. If not I'm only out $16 plus a little sales tax. Wish there was more than one acura dealer here (where I live), they wont cut any slack on parts. If its a bigger ticket item I order from one of the vendors listed on this site. Just ordered the t-belt kit and some other suspension parts from Hansel. They should be here by middle of next week.

When you receive them or should I say, when you go to install the spring silencers, you will find a thin strip of adhesive applied to the inside of the silencer. This is placed there so the silencer will stick to the spring as one presses them on. I placed a small plastic zip tie wrap on each distal end to help keep them on. I found, over time, when I went back to, for example, rotate my tires after 5K, I would notice the ends pulling away from the spring coil; therefore, I just secured the ends in place with a tie.
