Working LED DRL "Decoder" Harness?

I have a pair of 9005 LED DRL that I purchased off Ebay for about $15. I know I need a harness, but does anyone know where I can purchase a "LED DRL Harness" besides iJDMToy? They are the only place that I found that sells DRL LED harnesses separately ($20) but I have read too many posts saying how they are such a failure.

They still show the DRL indicator on dashboard and in some cases the leds still will not turn on.

Anyone know where else I can get a harness so I can plug my 9005 bulbs in to work without getting a "DRL error" indicator?

i have the new ijdmtoy harness that works for sure, the wiring is very delicate as to which wires so if you get one thing wrong it wont work right. mine has been working for months without issue

I'm not exactly sure which one it is on the website because I went there in person and they offered it to me. I've examined the harness and relay and can guarantee that it'll work if installed correctly. The trick is that it takes one positive from one side and the negative from the other side and it has to be done that way to trigger the relay to give the LED DRLs power from the battery.

i've been running the DRL kit from jlclightings for about 8 months now. no warning light or anything, it has been running great. initial install wasn't too bad, the wiring is somewhat fragile but if you know how to crimp and all that, the fixes are easy (if a wire pulls out).

Damn I wish you could show me which one. The fact that you went to the store in person makes it a little different for me. I only see 1 decoder on their website and it's listed for $20. Does yours look exactly like this one?

Thanks but I'm looking for for a "DECODER / HARNESS" but itself. JLC sells them as a kit. LED Bulbs + Decoder for ~$60 + shipping...

I'm looking to spend ~$20 on just a decoder / harness

Just adding a resistor doesn't give the LED bulb the 12v it needs. Paperboy, I have been talking with iJDMtoy for a while about getting me a unit that works, and I'm pretty sure they have been referring to your install and how well it has been working. I just called today and they are sending me the new unit. When I receive it, would you mind giving me detailed instructions on how to make it work 100%?

It's funny how u have stupid drl indicator on the cluster if it's not working but it won't do the same if you have a bad headlight bulb...it's just pointless of Acura/Honda doing that....

When you receive your unit, can you take a couple of pictures of how the decoder/harness looks?

Sub'd. I'm definitely in for this as right now I'm waiting for my bulbs to come in. I pulled the fuse for the drl's just to see if having the light on even bothered me and it actually doesn't. So I may not even bother getting the harness after I put the bulbs in, but if I do I would like to see which one is working best for everyone as well.

I just sent a e-mail to JLCLightings and asked if they were willing to sell me a DRL decoder / harness seperately...

Will come back and let you guys know their response as well as pricing. I'm hoping it's ~$20

thats just the resistor, you will also need the relay harness. its a simple 12v automotive relay triggered by the drl 5v and will switch the leds to power from battery.

sure thing. PM me when you receive it, or maybe we can post back on this thread so people will know for sure how it's done.

i have been working on this myself for a while.
I first bought the kit from JLC Lighting and it was garbage. It looked like scrap wires were thrown into a box and one of the bulbs had a broken piece rattling inside of it.

I then bought the kit from iJDMToy and install went great and couldnt be more happy.

Like paperboy said how you install is important...put the red wire in line with the black wire when connecting the harness to the resistors and make sure the grounds are in good places. I put the grounds on the headlight assembly top bolt.

the link to the kit is below

Ok I have a question in reference to the in line resistor mounting, this is the V-Leds kit, but it's pretty much the same as the IJDMtoy one that I ordered.

It shows where to mount the passenger side one with a 10mm bolt but and in the pictures in this thread https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...highlight=ijdm post #32 it says to mount the resistor plate low on the radiator support, but is there some type of hole already drilled there for you to attach it to? I had this apart yesterday, but I forgot look as I was a noob and thought you wouldn't need the harness or resistor for the DRL Leds to work. I know its a tight squeeze getting my arms in there, so I'm hoping something is already pre-drilled in that spot to mount the plate to? Can anyone that has installed this mounting plate chime in with any insight here?

I'm waiting on my new headlights from JnC which will have the LED Halos. I will definitely need help getting those to work. Would ya be willing to help me installing them when I get them? I'd come to you of course and buy ya lunch and beer or whatever you're into.

I got my harness from ijdmtoy yesterday. I will post a picture of it all laid out in a little bit as I have a couple questions before installing it that maybe someone could answer.

My decoder works, there are some weird things about the harness though that I question, but it's hard to explain it now because I'm at work.

Did you purposely make it strobe or is it doing that on its own?
