Windshield Chips
Question,
Has anyone else experienced way too many chips in the windshield?
Background: 04TL Base Auto (non-navi)
I travel 4 states selling software. After 13,000 miles there are as many chips in my windhshield as I had on my old Dodge Intrepid after 130,000 miles. I travel the same highways.
It seems as though everything sand, dust, etc. nicks and chips it.
I think I heard the TL windshield is actually 2 thinner pieces of glass pressed together. Is that correct? Are these inferior materals?
Overall this is very dissappointing?
I would welcome all others feedback.

More info
I live in KC area and travel parts of NE, KS, MO, and IA.
I now found other posts on windshields (after posting this) and have learned lots.
Still looking for any additional info.
Oh, hardly any rock chips in hood and bumper. No nicks on headlights.
Thanks.
