What kind of battery are you running?
Bought my OEM battery from Honda. It was cheaper at Honda compared to the Acura dealership. Works fine no issues. And no your car will not operate differently depending on what brand battery is in the car. After years when the battery gets weak it could effect things I suppose, but then your due to buy a new battery anyway. I think I spent around 80 bucks if I remember correctly.

Diehard Platinum...I swear the car runs smoother I had a rough idle with the junky AAA battery that was in the car when I bought it. I run an 800 watt sub amp and it gets fed easy, no issues starting if the car sits for a week. Pricey but comes with a 4 year replacement warranty and I think 8 year prorated.
Diehard Platinum. It's not cheap but it's one of the best values out there. Performance is great in every area, reserve time is insane, and the car does seem to run better, especially idle.
The 4 year free replacement and 100 month pro rated warranty means its unlikely you will ever have to buy a new battery, at least not at full price ever again.

Excise agm. Best battery in the world hands down. Even better the optima. They are roughly $150 but i guarantee you will never buy another battery for te life of the car. No matter how many amps, subs, tv's or whatever you run
Optimas suck. They are the only battery regardless of price that I recommend against buying.
I would have to disagree with you. Ive been running them for 20 years. Never an issue. I have one that is over 15 years old still running strong. Ive never had one that didnt make it 6-7+ years (which for me is 300k+ miles) many of which have powered stereo systems as well. Every one of my vehicles has one, Including my boat.

Between just my father and myself with the various cars we own, we've had 6-7 Optimas, both red and yellowtop fail within 1.5 years. Maybe they work better on old car where there's practically zero draw when the engine is off or in other machinery where they're not hooked up except for when they're in use. Especially in a situation like the TL where there's a constant draw all the time they suck. They're a 1-2yr battery in my experience.

I replaced my TLS battery with another OEM because it was under warranty and free. Otherwise I would go with a Diehard as this has always been my replacement battery.

^^yes. however the battery was doing well for the first yr or so without the battery tender with no loss of cranking power. my car was not driven daily during that time. after about 12 mos, i noticed a slight loss. attached the battery tender, this year...battery stays happy with the limited drive time it sees.

I have Costco/Kirkland batteries in our cars and they're fine and have a decent warranty. Costco use to sell the Optima batteries a few years ago and they don't anymore- the rumor was that there were too many returns for outright failure.
I think an Optima style battery is a good choice if you need a battery that can be mounted in unique locations (inside cabin or sideways)- that's hardly a need for a TL though.

Hmm I may head to costco and pick one up. Ever since I had the acura the battery was weak. I had to jump it a couple times due to having the doors or radio on for not long. This has been 3 years or so now.
Does costco batteries have a core charge?
I never had a issue with costco brands on any product. They normally pull the crappy quality out.

I needed the battery last week for the 04 so I looked through the threads on Acurazine and did some basic shopping.
Called Costco and verified they had the battery
Used the link below because Costco only uses the Costco Computer # for inventory.

10+ years ago they were great batteries. I had one last me over 7 years in the very hot engine bay of the GN before I gave it away, still working. Everything I've bought and my father has bought and my friends have bought in the past 10 years and especially the last 5 were junk. Some just failed outright overnight. Some got weak over the course of a year. Some had zero volts. This is all different cars and in every case replacing with another battery fixed the problem, it wasn't the car. I ran a Redtop in my TL in '07 and it started getting weak within the year and after a year it scared me a few times. Replaced it finally with a Diehard Platinum, no problems.

My Interstate is now 3.5 years old or thereabouts now.
and those with a diehard have Sgt. John McClane in their car.........
