Tuned automatic

Quick question. Does tuning a auto do anything. I was told doesn’t do anything and it’s a waste of money ?

Are you referring to tuning the engine or the transmission?

Regardless, don't expect much of anything; I'd say, complete waste of money.

It defiantly does something but it could still be a waste of money depending on your expectations.

arent the 04-06 autos un-tunable anyway? you only have the option to tune the 07-08 autos

either way a tune is probably only useful if you have all the bolt ons you can possibly have and even then it most likely wont make a dramatic difference.. if you think you can take a stock TL with no mods on it and throw a stage 1 tune on it and gain 80+ whp and 105+ wtq like a MK7 GTI you'll be very sad very fast

Unless you're going to add a turbocharger, then adding fuel injectors will do nothing positive for performance.

Pretty safe bet that ain't gonna happen.

Unless you have a 2007 or 2008 Type-S with the 3.5 liter motor, which was rated at 286 HP, then you have the 3.2 which is rated at 258 HP.

If this is for a 04-06 Autotragic save your money for a transmission.

generally; you'll want the car first in your possession before you start spending imaginary money for imaginary mods.

generally, maintenance over mods...
you dont even have the car in your possession, which means you could totally blow your whole imaginary pay checks on maintaining the car.
let's revisit the idea of modding when you actually have the car...and when it's in tip top condition.

otherwise, I can tell you right now, I've spent over $5k on modifications alone. and that's not including maintenance...

So you think you will be getting a Type S.

A clean Type S is becoming hard to find at a good price.

Like Justn said

Maintenance is key. Mods can wait.

non-turbo = naturally asspirated
headers = none
injectors = why?
auto = rebuild
maintenance = 21 year old's bank account (but then again the younger guys ride around dirty with shit rattling everywhere so you may be able to save money on this stuff)

Heck, I spent $10,000 last year for a very clean and bone stock non-Type-S 6MT last year; doesn't surprise me a clean Type-S 6MT will fetch upwards of $14,000.

first of all don’t assume no ones bank account. If you wanna know I am a journeyman electrician. So here in Canada where I’m from I get 38 an hour.

Well Hell's bells, if you've got the money, buy yourself a real car (i.e. a TL Type-S 6MT).

That's like USD$60,400.79 at today's conversion, for anyone interested.
