Right front door handle cover part

Yeah, walk out of the bar last night to see this on my passenger door side as I go to open the door for my lady friend.

Anyway...on AcuraOEMParts.com so that I can order a replacement, but want to get some confirmation for the specific part. I'm finding the one for the left front door handle, with the keyhole, but not the one from the right front with no key hole.

Thanks guys

So is this how the shaved handles thing works? You buy the passengers side part and put it on the drivers side?

I believe this is a known issue with the TL's. I bought the part(2nd one). Then I had my oil changed at the dealer and they put it on at no charge.

wow, lately I have seen alot of these threads and seen on the streets alot of TL's missing that part of the door handles missing. Should I be worried? btw all I've seen are 04-06 TLs... hopefully 07-08 are better?

exactly because the passangers side has the molding different so it wont work on the left side but the left rear will work on the left front.

and yonkers914, i crazy glued mine too because i had one fall off but found it, then anotherone fell off and didnt find it and i paid like 19 bucks on the acuraoem website with shipping so i just crazy glued them on... lol

Good to know that this is a chronic problem, lol...

And of course - now that I'm at work I can not access AcuraOEMparts due to the stupid firewall, but does anyone have the direct link to the part that I'll need?

Is this it? #4?

Photo is from oemacuraparts.com, I just know I can get the ABP cap color already from AcuraOEMparts...just not sure of which part # it is from those guys.

There is a TSB on this issue, try showing it to your service advisor and ask if you can get the part and put it on yourself instead of spending 20 bucks.

I have this same issue and just called my local dealer and asked them for this part (Right Front Door handle Cover part) and they said "this part installed will cost you $170.00 because the door panel needs to be taken off, but the part itself will cost you $40.00" LOL

does anyone know where to buy this part, preferably genuine Acura OEM part? I had the same issue, came out in the morning to find passenger side door cap fallen off. I thought someone must have bumped the door overnight but it seems like a common problem. Mine is a 2007 TL - Nav. Any help much appreciated.

Thanks,

So besides the driver's side cap, are the rest of the caps the same? I found one the same color as my car on amazon but it is the left rear and I need the front passenger side cap...

The cover cap has a plastic prong that clips onto the metal base -- you should be able to push the prong in with a small screwdriver and pop the cover cap off the base.
If the base on the car is OK, you can put away the new one and just use the existing one.
Use the screwdriver to hold the base on the door still (it is designed to move) when you pop the new cover cap onto it.

If the cover cap's base is defective, you'll need to open up the door panel to install the new one.
