Hey guys.. First time poster long time lurker lol. Anyway, forgive my noobness, but I see alot of people mod their 3G TL headlights with the MDX jewel eyes and I've always wanted to do this to my 08 TL S, but I have a couple of questions that I some could answer:

1) Can anybody give me a ballpark estimate of how much it would cost to have this done to my car?

2) Has anybody experimented with this with the ILX jewel eyes? (They look better and sharper imo). If you have or know anyone who has, how did it turn out?

3) Has anybody had any bad experiences after having this done?(e.g. breaking, bulbs going out, etc.)

3) ANY TIME YOU DEVIATE AWAY from stock, its going to be less reliable. No matter how you slice it, you're going to have to fuck with them on occasion.

2) these jewel lights are so new, that they cost a lot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you're going to have a very hard time finding some one that has done an ILX retrofit. because of cost. The MDX jewel lights have been out since 2014 and one could possibly find a set at a junk yard, reducing cost.

1) depends if you do it yourself or if you have a company do it for you. OBVIOUSLY, if you do it yourself....you will save money.... which brings us back to point #2....jewel lights cost a fuckin lot!

There was a guy who got custom rgb jewel eyes with wireless controller on his TL. I talked to the creator and he said around $2100 USD with his trade in program. They were pretty cool as each jewel could be controlled individually to make a rainbow wave pattern.

The ILX jewel eyes are actually less bright than the MDX ones. Plus they are off a 2016 car, so you'll have a hard time finding them from a non-OEM source.
