I recently purchased a Raceseng slammer shift knob and I felt it would be good to do a write up on it as the company is not well known in the Acura community. I started talking to Dave (sockr1) about the knob after I saw he got one for his TL to get some more information. He told me he purchased the universal threaded adapter because they did not have one for the TL but were currently in the process of designing one specifically for the TL. So I reached out to Raceseng to show my interest and to get an update on the new threaded adapter. My timing was pretty good as they were almost finished with it. I would also like to point out their customer service is fantastic and very easy to get a conversation going. Once the new threaded adapter was finished, I went ahead and pulled the trigger on the knob. I'll be honest, they are pricier than other vendors but you can tell they are machined with the highest quality in mind. They have several knobs available but I felt the slammer would fit best given my shifting techniques. I went with the charcoal translucent slammer with the shift gate pattern, new threaded adapter, and the boot retainer. I also forgot to mention the slammer is 635 grams! When it arrived, I was so impressed with the quality. The new threaded adapter is much more solid than other brands and adjusting the shift gate pattern was a breeze with the screw on top. The boot retainer keeps the boot nice and snug for a clean oem look. Also, the knob sits slightly lower than the stock height which is awesome.
Anyway, I thought I would spread the word about the company as well as this specific knob. I installed mine this weekend along with a CT short shifter and I could not be more happy. It's amazing how much of a difference a heavy knob especially combined with a short shifter makes your shifting experience. Enjoy the pics!

I ran their knobs on my BRZ and CTS-V. I also ran their camber plates and a supercharger pulley. They make some of the best products I've ever seen, I would highly recommend, it's worth every penny. Unfortunately, my TL is the lousy automatic
Please excuse my ignorance, but I recently changed my shift knob to a 2016 Accord Sport shift knob (part# 54102-SZT-013ZB) and am wondering how I might be able to glean some info from your install.
I have a 2012 TL but I think my shift boot retainer, and original shift knob and yours are quite similar. It looks like Raceng's shift boot retainer works entirely different. Is it held up by the threaded adapter?
The Accord's have a different boot retainer mechanism than the TL. It's held in place by a steel ring that is separate to the shift knob (part# 54103-SZT-000). It features a 1-2mm bump out all the way around. I've cut essentially what looks like 2 teeth in it to resemble the bottom of my original shift knob. Ultimately, it's just not as clean as the Raceng one you have.

Thanks
You simply replace the oem boot retainer with raceseng's one by flipping the shift boot upside down and securing it with a zip tie.The shift knob then screws on and holds up the shift boot by using the o rings on the retainer. Hope that helps a bit.
good review Ryan, glad my expensive recommendation didn't get you upset haha! i'll add my full install and review post also in the upcoming weeks....long story short this knob is AWESOME!!! here's a few preview shots of my machined slammer with the clear translucent powdercoat on top. in my opinion, this knob and boot retainer setup is the cleanest aftermarket knob option out there to look seamless with the oem boot.
hahha damn i forgot you'd call me out on that...ok here's the real background story why i haven't done a full review:
i was one of the first TL cars to get this knob for the TL, so the universal threaded adapter didn't work correctly with our shift knob, the shift knob sat way too low and the shifting was very notchy and unnatural. being an engineer i designed my own special nut to work with their adapter and then had my machine shop make one for me.
I've been running this setup for a while now (and it works perfect) while Raceseng has been developing a proper universal one that would also work with the TL. the owner told me to wait on my review until I got the new adapter and then do a full write up. I followed up with him last night and he said he'd get one out to me as soon as he gets the final touches completed. they now have a universal adapter that works with the TL!
so i'll do my review when he gives me the go ahead
apology accepted That's very cool and i'm excited to see the injuneared version versus Raceseng's official
haha it's nothing special, i just took measurements and made the thinnest stainless steel nut i could, but with flats for a wrench and an outside diameter that fit inside the raceseng shift knob. the hardest part was writing it off as a machine shop "job" for my normal work...not many medical devices need that large of a nut haha. the raceseng adapter is much better!
Looks good, not sure how practical it would be down here in the summer even with tinted windows, I bet it would get pretty hot. Wonder if there is a leather covered version?
Had a Hurst T-handle in my '74 Z/28 when I lived in Arizona, had to leave a towel over it from March to November when I parked it outside.

They have some hybrid models which is what got me looking at them in the first place. you get a weighted knob (not as heavy as the slammer, but more like the skunk2) but it has a delrin cover i believe that keeps it cool to the touch. me being in san diego, i went all out with the full stainless one.

they have all the options on their website
in the 90's, all my friends that had accords and preludes and civics used baby socks. I remember one friend used the "Jordan" brand baby sock. sooo coool!!! lol

hahhaha guess that means i should have a baby so i have a reason to buy jordan socks for my shift knob!

you are looking at the "machined only" version. you need to look at the translucent powder coated version. they are two different product lines and have two different prices. they also have a "wrinkled" powder coat but i wasn't a fan of it

Yep that's why I went with that color and it also matches my trim pieces. You can also choose the "Build you own", select the slammer translucent, and then fill out the options that you want.
$192.75 Shipped for a KNOB! Let me pull my pants down for them real quick. I will have to wait to sell more parts off my '05 to get this cosmetic addition! That's damn near enough to buy an AEM Intake!
How is this KNOB in hot and cold temps? Will I be holding dry ice in the winter, and lava in the summer?
lol yeah it sure gets pricey when you start adding on everything.
I've only had it installed since Sunday but it was pretty hot outside this week and it wasn't too bad. Any aftermarket knob though without a special cover or texture is bound to be hot in the summer and cold in the winter.

Here's what the boot retainer looks like:
Thanks Ryan for confirming that their retainer will only work with their knob. Eventually I'll find a solution for my knob & boot

This just made me chuckle....I had a metal shift knob in a prior car and vividly remember these exact thoughts. I despised that shift knob in the summer for sure.
just a heads up to everyone that raceseng recently added a few more sweet shift knobs, have dialed in their shift knob adapter, and are currently having a 20% off sale from this friday until next friday. this is their ONLY sale of the year.
this shift knob is still one of my favorite mods i've done and if i have have any future manual cars, this shift knob will be my first purchase.
and for those guys still wondering where my review is at...i'm still waiting on my shift adapter to come in from them!!! they've been super busy getting one out to me, but as soon as i do i'll put up my detailed review.
Holy Shiz I thought TWM stuff was all the rave and now this and it's not only cheaper but looks better IMHO. im all over this
they added a bunch of new finishes and they look fantastic. i follow them in instagram because i love how they are dedicated to good photos and products that not only function well but feel and look great

Yes they have a great variety and their pictures are on point. bye bye Maven
My OEM knob is all scratched to bits at the face, but the leather portion is what makes me smile. it feels perfect in the hand, like my ****.
But the Raceseng sure is pretty.
Hey Azine family, I had to chime in on this one. I've been rocking the Moddiction Anvil 2 for the last 5 yrs with the CT SS. At 400+ grams, it was great, sweet. It amazed me however the difference that an additional 300+ grams would make with the Ashiko. Smoother crispier shifts by far. I considered the slammer but went with the heavier ashiko, and the slammer has a similar shape to the Anvil 2 so I wanted to switch it up a bit. I ordered it and got it the next day and I've been in heaven ever since. Had to remove the stock adapter and do some work to get it to perfection. Coupled with the CT SS this is the best mod I've done in 5yrs. It's like a brand new car and a brand new drive plus I did the check valve delete maybe 3 yrs ago. Had to do ECU transmission reset for the test drive after I installed it. Ashiko is a little pricey but if you're familiar with the economic term "utility" then you'll understand how I feel. The satisfaction surpasses the cost. I'm huge on function over fashion and this setup spells both. And those raceseng dudes are really kool too. I scratched up my interior in the process but that can get fixed and it was allllllllllll worth it. Get one!!!
^^ nice review, good to see someone go the ashiko route! people grumble about the price when i show it to them but no joke i would pay it again in a heartbeat for how it changes the shifting experience. it's easily one of my favorite mods in my car!
ps finally got my production shift adapter in (i previously had an older version from my order), so i should be getting my review up within the next week (trying to finish up my nexus 7 tablet install first)
