How often do you use S mode?

Nice, i've been driving my TL in SS mode for a while now. I only use it when the highway got a bit of traffic or a nice sized highway. In City and traffic i switch to Auto. Can someone tell me at what speed should i be shifting my gear since u'm not really a pro at driving Manual? lol.

i use SS only for racing and speed boosts when i down shift.
ive found when i race someone and use SS once in 5th the tl starts to max out SS then one day racing i accidentally put it back into drive and it gave my TL a huge boost in speed and now i use this technique to race hahaha, like a HUGE speed boost
DOES ANYONE KNOW WHY THAT IS AND IF ITS SAFE? kinda feels like TL NOS hahahahaha

so what i mean is when the car starts redlining in SS 5th gear then switch fromm sportshift to automatic and the TL jumps HUGE GAIN in speed even though in 5thgear SS it was redling out

lol sorry i ment to say when in 5th and the cars not picking up speed as fast anymore just slowly trying to GET TO redlining it but its picking up speed so slow now and the car im racing is catching up like a bmw i raced so i thought i lost the race and was pissed haha and still flooring my car i accidently put it back into automatic and the car picked up speed so fast compared to fifth SS mode and my TL made top speed so much faster and redlined sooooooo much faster.....TL NOS haha

so my race goes from stopped position in SS mode, waiting for green when the race starts my ss is in 1st, i floor it shift to 2nd (or this happens so fast auto you can leave) then flooring it the whole race i shift from 2nd to 3rd then 4th (TL doing sooo goood in race) then redline 4th and into 5th still flooring it but the tl starts to pick up slow now cause already going so fast but now the car im racing is so close cathing up cause he maxing out faster and at higer speeds then from 5th halfway or close to topshift into AUTO and it shoots up like youve just switched from 2nd to 3rd at high speeds...first i was sacred to do it again but now i do it all the time when i race cause so many fags with cars out with high HP now i couldnt resist

...very curious here 
...by the way i think about quickly switching from SS mode into D at a high speed may be putting a lot of strain on ur tranny. Not quite sure but i really believe so. Do you also let ur TL redline actually touching the redline at a 4th gear?
