DIY Window Molding Trim Paint

Hey guys, so I had time during a break, so I decided to remove my ugly faded window molding, so the first thing was looking at it, I was gonna paint and remove the vinyl while its on the car, but my friend told me to get the lisle tool which helped a good amount. So I ordered from amazon which was about 12$, took me about 1-2 hours to finish with paint. So basically there are NO CLIPS for the TL, its hooked on into the door metal, so u don’t need to worry about breaking any clips, just worry about bending the molding, so I kinda fcked up when putting back on the rears when I was try to slide it back in, which scratch up some paint. I was mad but oh wells. Once I took it off, I use a heat gun to remove the vinyl easier, after that then I just use goo gone to clean up the mess of the residue. Then I had to get some adhesion promoter and trim paint from pep boys and applied about 2 coats of promotor and about 4 coats of trim and bumper. I shoulda use primer instead. But came out pretty nice looking like new, you can tell by the pics. Let me know what u guys think!!!

Looks good! I was thinking of re-painting my trim too because it's faded really badly.

3-4 hours? More like 2 hours. Many people have done it since the trim fades for everyone, it's a pretty simple process and it's hard to fuck the job up. I don't know man, your money in the end. I need to do mine at some point too and I think it'll be a nice after work project.

yea I def don't see it being more than 3 hours for sure... but you gotta take the pieces off, then peel all the old shit off then re-wrap it all again, its tedious.. I just look at it from the shops perspective, they gotta eat too. but when he said 250 I was like fuuck really I was thinking 200 lol
