in my experience deer whistles dont work. I had two on my S10 and still had a deer run in front of my truck many years ago. But if you really want to mount it try the lower grill openings.

I don't think they work either .. had them on my 86 Monte Carlo SS and hit 2 deer 6 weeks apart.
I think they beed a clear path of air flow so under the mirrors etc.

I'm not entirely sure if these work or not, BUT, I was poking around the front, passenger side bumper grille a while back and noticed that just behind the grille piece was a plastic deer whistle. I never even knew it was there, previous owner had installed it.
I haven't hit any deer yet but did come VERY close a couple months ago. I think whistle or no whistle the dumb SOBs will still stop in the middle of the road when they see/hear you coming

I had them at the lower bumper inserts, the reason is so that air can pass through it. Also, it's better to just honk the horn, that saved me once before. You know what they say about deer in headlights.
