I could never give up Manuela, though. I'd need a Manuela in my life, somewhere. If PDK for daily, Manuela for fun.

I'm curious why the turbo is a bad idea... I've never heard anything bad about it. Expensive to maintain. I do know that much.

Found this on Edmunds.com regarding their longterm review of a Macan S:

The 2015 Porsche Macan S remained one of the most popular cars in our fleet until the end. Everyone wanted a piece of it. So much so that when it came time to sell the Macan, it stayed close to home, ending up in the garage of one of our Edmunds colleagues.

We raved about it seats, its seamless power and its utility. We put 21,000 miles on the odometer. We spent about $1,100 in maintenance for the year. We didn't quite achieve EPA-rated fuel economy of 19 mpg combined (our actual: 17.3), but we didn't exactly baby the throttle, either. We sold it at 21 percent depreciation.

It was Porsche through and through. We really, really liked it.
The Macan S is the 2nd lowest trim level also, rated at 340hp.

it goes: Base (252hp) -> S (340hp) -> GTS (360hp) -> Turbo (400hp) -> Turbo with Performance package (440hp)

Ideally, I'd shoot for a used GTS or Turbo. Many things would play into that, though.

I remember seeing one in Frankfurt on these massive OZ factory wheels... must've been at least 21" wheels. Looked so sick.

Isn't Waco too tall to sit in a Macan? I'd wager he'd be more comfy in an Escarade. Or something.

And yeah, Macan is tits. I'd get one if I were not so hellbent to get away from a CUV for my next vehicle.

Macan should be just fine for me, in terms of size. Nismo is tiny. Miata was slightly tinier. S2000 is too tiny.

Ah okay. I'm guessing the driver's seat is all the way to the back though.

Generally. But not always. In the TL, I slide it forwards and have the back rest fairly vertical. Gives me better clutch control and more of dat race car seating position. The Nismo is a problem though... I have it 1 click forward, but really, I wish I could push the seat back another 3-4 clicks I move it 1 click forward so that I can recline the back rest just a wee bit.

Getting a Turbo over the S is a waste of money.
You could get and S and a V for the price of the Turbo.
It's only slightly quicker and slightly better performance wise.
The S is tunable and you can make up ground for not a lot more.
Physics wise, a 3.0L V6 (500cc) is the sweet spot.

This comparo on porsche's site doesn't really show the true differences
Buttttt... it's enough to be like.. wutttt

The 3G Ramblings & General Discussion Thread (V)-5bvq65f.png

If you're unaware.. the S is twin turbo'd still.. it's a 3.0L vs a 3.6L
The GTS is the same as S just a little more aggressive tune and some goodies from Turbo

Thanks, mang!!! Well if I *really* don't have to buy the turbo...

I did find a COBB tuner kit for the car for $1500 US. Claims to have really nice gains for the S, or GTS.

For the S, on COBB:

Macan S Power Gains
Stage 1 91 Peak Gains : +9.43% HP, +21.24% TQ
Stage 1 91 Max Gains : +37.30% HP, +37.29% TQ

My kids love it too, but they're still young. But both my almost 4 and 2 year old still talk about the first time they went. People say kids will not remember, but it's not true....

Our first trip was a year ago and my 4 year old talks about it like it was last week.

Only thing about taking them young is you have to lug around the stroller etc. But, most of the time we just parked it in stroller parking and walked the vicinity.

Strollers are not cheap. I paid 1k for my damn thing. That's why I don't take it to Disneyland, I take an umbrella double stroller that cost 100.

Think so? I dunno anyone who hates on it. What other options are there, in that category, though? Audi SQ5 comes to mind, but that's about it. And you know what they say about Audi owners...

If I was smart, I'd invent something that all sucker yuppie mom and dads NEED to have these days... and because it's for infants, I can jack the price 8000% and say "well if you truly love your child, and you do, right, you'd spend your very hard earned dollars on this very, very, ultra necessary gizmo"

I wish I was smart, doe.
