Naw, dawg. I just walked into the office and sat down.
Day begins now. At least tonight will be good sh*t. Taking one of my work buddies out to the local Japanese izakaya joint for sake and biru. And food of course.

My cousin Lawrence actually dabbled into joining the US Navy SEALS program before he got "pressured" out of it by his dragon Mom and went back into dev work at Google. His wife also is a senior lead for Microsoft and heads up one of the teams for Office (so, if you hate your latest Office, PM me and I'll send a note to her). Both easily pull in $600K US combined? Easy.
As "bad@$$" as he could be, Lawrence drives a Mazda6. 2010 circa, I believe.

My old Sr. Chief investment officer makes 890k a year. Don't know what his wife does, think she's a SAHM. His family owns a Lexus dealership in Southern Cali. He drives a 2010 Prius and a 2007 RX 330...

Then there's this brotha who owns a gym out here.
Has a modded M3, had 2 R8's just sold one and now he bought a Tesla Model X.
He has money, but he shows it. Not a super fancy house though, Brand new built in 2016, but only like 2300 Sq ft. Probably cost 530k (think that's what those houses were/are going for)

Rich people don't show that they have money. It's usually the broke asses who have to flaunt.

Just that for SOME, cars don't mean anything. That's all. And oh, my cousin's wife drives a VW Beetle. It's the bathtub-on-wheels I call it.
And I have arguably the lowest income of my high-achieving family but have the most HP and name-brand-esque cars.

...and I dress the most esspensive too esp. in my preferences for suits and jackets.
No one in my family cares about watches. MIND YOU, both cousins have fawking Rolex Daytonas that they never wear and last time I was over, was just sitting on the shelf unwound (with the date display many many days passed).
So, per Flips' comment, maybe I'm just compensating.

it boggles my mind to the lengths acura owners go to, to defend their cars. Pride is so distorting.

I would get a 3G TL-S in a heartbeat. Car is 9-10 years old and still looks good.

That being said, the guys that go after the other brands or continue to spread the belief that a car is somehow more or less reliable based on where the logo started can go pound sand. The idea that Acura is reliable because its Japanese is so silly. None of the new Acuras are Japanese. They're all made in America.

My shit smells like roses.....

Same goes for any sort of brand in general. People can find it personal and are attached at an emotional level to what they've put their $$$ to.
I will go to any length to defend anything purdy and shiny.
Mmmm...Pagani. Mmmm...Patek...

It's not even that. It's admitting "hey, maybe the car I bought that I thought was super awesome, actually isn't super awesome. And when people provide me evidence of actual better cars for less money, I don't just say "well my TLX is better anyway""

That's why when it's time for me to buy shit now, it's straight to reviews.

It took my 7 months to buy my SUV.....
That's why I'm starting now on Vans etc.
I haven't bought anything for home besides those windows, and that took my 9 months to make up my mind on which company.

it's blissful, right?
kurt is right, next to housing...a vehicle is probably the most expensive thing one owns. and as humans, we generally OVERVALUE the things we own. coupled with the general public not knowing how an engine works and its easy for Ego to get in the way

In all seriousness.
I went with Pella..
It was between Pella and Milguard.
Milguard was 14k, Pella was 13k.
I looked into Renewal by Andersen and they wanted 58k.
