2008 TL - leaky axle seal - should I just replace the axles as well?

Just turned 80k with normal driving (not racing, nothing too aggressive). Routine maintenance at the dealer and they claim the pass-side axle seal is leaking. I will check this weekend myself but assuming they are not blowing smoke my question to the well-o-knowledge is...should I replace both axles as well as the seals if I'm going to the trouble of getting to the pass-side seal? It looks like i need to yank the axle out on the pass side to get to the seal? Or should I just replace that seal and call it good. Thoughts?

Axle seal? Where does that go? I thought the axle just slides into the transmission and hub.

Presumably the seal between the axle and the transmission. See https://acurazine.com/forums/2g-tl-problems-fixes-117/cv-axle-seal-replacement-846996/ for an idea. I am just wondering if I go to the effort to repair the seal should I replace the axles as well? Cost for new axles seems reasonable and mileage suggests it might be time...?

No, don't replace the axle unless it's bad; OEM axles are expensive. I would replace the spindle/axle nut and the c-clip if the passenger side has one.

I'm pretty sure that you have to disconnect the shock wishbone from the lower control arm; make sure you torque it in the loaded position.

No, I wouldn't replace the axle unless the CV boot is broken.
Don't forget, the pass. side axle doesn't go into the trans, it goes into bearing support, then a straight shaft from the hanger to the trans.
Make certain it's trans fluid and not grease from the bearing.

Thanks, I appreciate the suggestions and will update when I dig into things. I wish I had caught this a few months ago when I put new rotors and pads on the front...sigh...
