12 year old original clear bra removal

My 2007 acura tl type-s came with the front end factory clear bra option when i purchased it, over the years it has clearly faded to the point where i want to remove it and replace it. Will removing such a old clear bra show paint underneath that looks different from the areas that didn't have clear bra on them? Anyone have any experiences removing such an old clear bra?

There will be a difference in paint colors yes, but a good body shop or detailer should be able to lessen the impact.

Would suggest only taking it to someone who does clear bra installations. They would be better at removing them than anyone else. And they will have insurance to cover you if removing it pulls up paint-a real possibility on 12 year old paint.

I removed my factory installed clear bra myself with the help of a steamer and a plastic razor blade . I then hit it with a clay bar and a polish and there is absolutely 0 sign that it ever was there.

You can get a very basic steamer for under 50$ on amazon. With steam the chances of paint coming off are very slim I would think as the adhesive on the clear bra softens up real good when steamed.

The issue will be getting it off in one piece since the plastic may have degraded to the point where it will splinter very easily! Use a steamer and other adhesive removers to loose and take the bra off. Be careful as quickly peeling up or any sudden movements while removing the bra may pull up your factory paint!
