Looka that price! I'm sure they can be talked down further, too. It a pretty decent deal on the face of it (i.e. Before research etc).

Here's a list of pre-owned RLX Hybrids.

For the life of me I can't figure out why someone would trade the car in at less than 2 years old. But only 7 available nationwide shows how rare the car is.

No RLX of any kind is going to pay off unless you're in it for the long haul, or you drive a hell of a lot.

Poor fuel economy.....
Tired of the poorly working nav with its bugs.....
Wind noise unresolved by TSB.....
upgraded to a 2016 SH for potential fixes.....

I can think of some good reasons.

...and no, I'm not trading, I'm just mentioning things that have come up on the forum.

I will say the audio system/nav are really working my nerves. I still haven't figured out how to turn off that voice that appears whenever I want to change music titles, or to scroll down the list of songs on my iPhone. There is no obvious setting for it and some days I'm ready to just pull out earphones and plug them in. I'm tired of the jumping nav cursor. I'm generally just patient with it, not everybody will be.

Bob could you please try to change this setting "Interface Dial Feedback" to off. It does not do this on mine, and i have this set to off.
I apologize if you have this already set to off, and i am completely wrong here!

It's the most expensive car on their lot. Too bad we can't see the carfax.

Bob - Did you do the NAV System update? That fixed the jumping map cursor for me.

Did it? I've been using Google Maps on my iPhone for navigation and seating the phone over the nav monitor when I need to use it. The screen is angled just so it doesn't fall out.

pgeorg, I've tried what you suggested before and it didn't help. I appreciate the effort, though!

I've certainly considered sticking an iPad over the NAV screen. :-)

For about four months I used an iPad in a device that mounted in the cup holder. It worked okay, but I eventually removed it in favor of the extra roominess of the cabinet.

It wasn't a bad idea, though, and I might hook it back up sometime.

What I was doing is using the iPad in the iPod connector and the iPhone would be connected via Bluetooth.

I could use the iPad for Pandora high fidelity if I wanted, at the same time I was using the iPad for maps and navigation.

I was a little embarrassed that I found this to work well, since I've often criticized Tesla, saying a giant iPad in the middle of the car is not a solution for anything. :-)

Sorry about that. Could you try one more thing, if you don't mind?

Settings, System Settings, Voice Recognition, Voice Prompt and turn it to Off?

Thank you:

That's been my primary disappointment and consistent complaint with this car. (Longer reply considered, and retracted until I am done working with Acura on the issue).

I'd start at $35k and go from there. I am personally sad to see the SH discounted so much, but I can only advise doing what I would for any other used car. My guess is that this particular dealer has no idea what a RLX SH is and is priciing it the same as a RLX PAWS. If you're interested, I'd take advantage of the considerable discount to procure one, particularly given it is the Advance package.

I wanted to come back and thank pgeorg. I tried this a second time and it worked! After almost 18 months, I finally I have silence when switching stations, songs, and selections on the upper screen! I owe you a beer, or a non-alcoholic equivalent if you don't drink.

Any idea on price to extend AcuraCare to 8yrs/120K miles on a '14 SH? Wondering if they get a premium price to cover the batteries if they begin failing significantly prematurely.

You may go to the link below and check for yourself, because it is dependent on how many miles you have and what state the car is registered at. I can tell you that the difference between the RLX P-AWS and the RLX SH-AWD AcuraCare (when new) was about $250 more for the SH. I know that AcuraCare is more expensive the more miles the car has.

The most durable component on the SH is the EV system as a whole. I would worry more about every other part of the car, rather than that. It is a Honda so you should be good without a major repair for a bazillion miles. Normal maintenance of course, but as we all know, Honda/Acura durability is fantastic.

Although I generally agree with your assessment concerning reliability & durability, I skeptical of this new technology, especially the first year of production, the 2014s.

I also am skeptical of buying the first iteration of new technology which is why I bought an extended warranty because I usually keep my cars for a long time. I just couldn't wait for the 2016 models with my 10 yr. old RL pushing 120,000 miles.

I have been surprised about the reliability of the hybrid system. I have had the car for 18 months and it continues to be rock solid and the best part of the car. While it is still early days, I don't think anyone on AZ has reported the least problem with the hybrid drive train and electric motors. I think George has probably put on over 25,000 miles with no issues. To me this is another endorsement for Honda's engineering chops.

Having said how great the hybrid system has been doesn't carry over to the whole car. There are lots of documented problems and a host of TSBs. Don't get me started on the infotainment system [not made by Honda].

So I agree with your concerns but so far in regard to the hybrid system, they seem unwarranted.

I just passed 27,000 miles. No issues with the hybrid system at all. Still love it as much as the day I bought it, and I will get the MDX Sport Hybrid as well.

I'm sure it wont be the same, but it will be even better than the current one. I am a staunch believer in the technology.

As am i, but i think the MDX SH cannot drive in electric mode at all.....I just think the technology is implemented very differently that the RLX SH. I could be completely wrong, so i will wait for the reviews:-)
