2014 new to me RLX Tech- vibration at highway speed
Hello everyone,
I just picked up a flood recovery 2014 RLX, 44k miles, for a very good price. The car cleaned up relatively well (except for the rear leather bench which will need recovered). The car runs and drives great with one acception. When driving at highway speed (75-80) and when I let off the accelerator, the is a very large harmonic sound, almost like a subwoofer at full power. As soon as I resume acceleration the sound goes away.
the previous owner had 20 inch wheels on it and I replaced the rubber with continentals. I am waiting on fresh wheels to arrive. But I don’t think that’s the problem.
i do not hear knocking sounds at idle from either the front or rear mounts as wpuld be a prime culprit, but haven’t had a chance to check the transmission mount.
the parts are so cheap and I will probably replace them myself. However, I’m asking for opinions for any experiences with this. Could it be one of the front shafts? (Its FWD with P_AWS). That would cost considerably more.
Any comments would be appreciated.
thanks in advance

Possibilities for noise on releasing the accelerator include
Alternator belt/tensioner
Engine/tranny mounts
Loose lug nuts.
